Who
says building profits is difficult?
I'm
going to let you in on a secret about small to mid-sized companies.
The secret is, there are ways to improve the performance of your
company that will automatically build more profits.
LLH
Enterprises guarantees positive, measurable results. Most of our
clients know where they want to go but have challenges getting there,
because of a shortage of manpower, time, skills, or tools. Our role
is to help the client's personnel handle the work required to reach
the company goals or to do it for them, depending on client staffing
availability.
The
case studies below are examples of how we've helped solve clients'
most pressing issues. We believe that People plus Planning plus
Processes equals Profits.
Case
Studies
Problem
A Houston company's CEO had a new sales manager that was results
oriented. Other managers were sabotaging him. This created a silo
mentality within the company which made the team dysfunctional.
They wanted to know, "How do we remove the dysfunction from
our management team and get everyone working together? The team
is fragmented and it is negatively impacting our profits."
Need
The managers needed to work as a team. The CEO wanted to create
better communication, more cooperation, and integrated planning
to reduce costs and take advantage of more business opportunities.
Key
Insights
No formal planning had been completed by departments and an enthusiastic
new manager was not well received by the other managers.
Solution
We worked with the CEO and President to develop a vision and strategy.
Next, we worked with the management team to develop departmental
plans aligned with each other which encouraged them to work together.
To build a stronger team we used assessments, teambuilding and individual
skill-building to help move management to agreement with the corporate
vision and support of each other's plans. LLH Enterprises helped
the CEO, President and senior managers take advantage of growth
opportunities in the market place, reduce costs and build profits.
Problem
A premier facilities service company vice president did not have
the time to devote to his management team to help them develop their
plans for the coming year. These plans were to be presented to senior
managers at their annual leadership conference. The vice president
asked LLH, "Can you work with my managers to develop better
action plans? I don't have the time and I need plans to build the
business and get my managers working as a team."
Need
This company was highly capable in serving customers in their markets
and continually made Fortune Magazine's 100 Best Companies
to Work For list. But, the division vice president was given
more responsibility and he needed someone to help get his managers
to set their own objectives and action plans in support of the corporate
Strategic Plan. In addition, he needed someone to work with his
managers on presentation skills so they would professionally present
their plan to the senior managers, president and CEO at their annual
leadership conference.
Key
Insights
The division managers were developing plans without input from their
staff and were not working as a team to ensure plans were compatible.
In addition, they weren't making the best use of their time for
planning.
Solution
We worked with the vice president to ensure that he gave division
heads their goals and a complete understanding of the corporate
strategic plan. With a sound and appropriate course and direction,
LLH worked with division managers and their staff to develop strong
plans that would build business. We used strategic planning tools,
review processes, and coaching to assure balanced input, consensus
and commitment from all managers. LLH Enterprises kept the divisions
on track and meeting their deadlines and trained them in presentation
skills. Their plans were approved and became the impetus for a reorganization
(driven by the managers) of the division to create higher performance.
Problem
A large hospital's IT group was having problems serving its internal
customers. They asked LLH Enterprises "Please help us get our
IT group to improve communications and feel part of the team. They
are good at meeting deadlines but not good at listening which causes
rework on projects and ill feelings."
Need
The hospital knew the IT group was competent in meeting the short
deadlines of its customers but the problem was their communication
skills, including listening and questioning, were ineffective, causing
rework and a poor return on their investment.
Key
Insight
Because of tight deadlines the IT group didn't take the time to
fully understand their customer's needs. In addition, they felt
they were not appreciated by their customers.
Solution
We worked with the IT group to facilitate an awareness of efficiency
and effectiveness as a team and their impact on their customers.
To open communication and build a stronger team we used assessments,
teambuilding, skill-building and facilitation to ensure they used
this information on the job. LLH Enterprises helped the IT group
move beyond the technical aspects of the job to learn how to communicate
more effectively with their customers and become appreciated.
